Database

It can happen that for some reasons like time, resource or cost, some requirements cannot be integrated in the ERP. In such a situation, after a pros and cons analysis, it can be interesting to create a database that will provide the appropriate tool to the requirements.

The most critical phase is to define precisely the business requirement.

  • Requested data

  • Requested functionalities

  • Requested reporting tools

  • Requested automated extraction or loading tools

  • Etc.

 

It is obviously very important to provide a strong documentation on the use of the database.

​

As with ERP master data, I like to automate the data load in the database.

​

I’m using Microsoft Access.
